During the month of February, the Tonight Show set out to choose its very own Hollywood Survivor.
Eight celebrities, having survived (in Jay's words) 'Hollywood Rerun Hell', were chosen to compete for the title "Hollywood's Ultimate Survivor". Dawn, Danny Bonaduce (The Partridge Family), Gary Coleman (Different Strokes) and Alison Arngram (Little House on the Prairie) made up
the Topanga Tribe, while Florence Henderson (The Brady Bunch), Charlene Tilton (Dallas), Jerry Mathers (Leave It to Beaver) and Adam Rich (Eight is Enough) made up the Cahuenga Tribe. Every Friday night the two tribes met in immunity challenge after immunity challenge - eating
humongous brussell sprouts whole (the stomach turns at the very thought), searching through muck to find a match that would light the tribe's aroma therapy candle (manicurists gasped as this
challenge ruined their handiwork), turning their sitcom sets upside-down in hopes of being the one to find the cell phone that would ring straight through to the phone on Jay's Tonight Show desk.
The competition was fierce as each celebrity tried to claim victory and become
Hollywood's Ultimate Survivor!

In the end, Jerry Mathers - yep, that's right, The Beav - went home with the trophy, but
that doesn't mean the others went home empty-handed, not when they shared the joy of competition and the satisfaction of knowing their work in some of television's most
popular series will continue to entertain the millions of fans the world over. CONGRATULATIONS, JERRY! |
